GPG April Photo Outing

GPG April Photo Outing

For our April Outing, we will be doing things a bit differently, don’t shoot the messenger, this timing is what we have to live with for this venue.

Where: Basilica of Our Lady, in Guelph.
When: Thursday April 20 — 2:30 to 5 pm

Cost: None

The Basilica is a beautifully ornate church in the centre of downtown Guelph. They have agreed to allow us to visit in this time-slot, as they also need to accommodate their usual bookings of weddings, funerals, and mass. You will find wonderful stained glass, classical carvings, sculptures, beautiful stone and tile floors and stairs, etc., the opulence you would find in European cathedrals.
They are open to a group of 10 to 18 or so coming in for two (plus) hours, with this one restriction:

They request that no one goes on the alter, and any pictures of same are taken from the surrounding area.

Suggested gear: any camera, normal, kit lens, short to mid zoom lenses. An on-camera flash may be useful, but not essential. Tripods and monopods are allowed.

BTW: I will be at Balzac’s Coffee at 5 Gordon St (the SW corner of Waterloo Ave., just south of the Basilica) from around 12:30pm if anyone is interested in joining me for a a cuppa and to talk photography or what-have-you.

Looking forward to seeing you all for another great GPG photo walk.
An RSVP would be appreciated, so that we know how many to expect.
