March GPG outing

Mark your calendars folks, there’s another photo outing coming up.

When: Saturday March 18 — 4 to 6 pm. This time-frame should allow for good late day light.
Where: more on that later
What: Street photography, ie: people in downtown Guelph. I believe this will be a first for the GPG, but with 40.9% of members indicating an interest in street photography, it should be a good turnout.
Cost: none.

GPG February Outing

The Blown Away Glass Studio in Elora has offered to allow us to come in, but only for a one hour in-studio demonstration. The date is February 25 at 4pm — mark your calendars. In that hour, Tim and Catherine (the glass artists) will do two demonstrations of blown glass pieces, so we will have ample opportunity for some interesting shots. There is a store adjoining the glass studio, where we can also shoot, so in total we can have probably about two hours of shooting time. Folks can also purchase pieces, if they so desire.

Once we are finished there, anyone who wants to, can wander around downtown Elora (3 minutes away) for additional shooting. There are numerous cafes and restaurants, keep in mind that if you are thinking of a restaurant, you will need a reservation beforehand.

Gear: any camera, a mid range zoom would be helpful, a flash as well, though you may not need one. Tripods/monopods are allowed, but I highly recommend that they NOT be used in the showroom where space is quite limited. Remember, if you break it, you buy it.

Looking forward to seeing you there.
