Peter Dušek – Minimalist Photography – May 20, 2026

Peter Dušek will present his “Field Work” series, showcasing a collection of minimalist photographs that transform rural architecture—barns, silos, and country buildings—into evocative abstractions inspired by the principles of colour field painting and echoing the geometric clarity of Piet Mondrian’s compositions.

By dividing each image into distinct colour fields and shapes, Peter distills the complexity of these structures into bold, elemental planes, revealing the subtle and striking ways in which buildings and their environments intersect. He will discuss his creative process, highlighting his minimalist design philosophy of “As Little As Possible, As Much As Necessary” to achieve emotional resonance through negative space, carefully curated colour palettes, and sparse compositions that evoke tranquility and timelessness.

Guild members are invited to preview the work in person at his “Field Work” exhibition at the Museum of Dufferin from September 21, 2025, to January 30, 2026. Photographs from the series can also be viewed at
